Saxophonist and composer born in Italy. His passion for music
dates back to his
earliest years. At the
age of 9 he started playing the saxophone
and since then he is mainly self taught. He is therefore free from
scholarly
and traditional influences. He is particularly attracted to jazz and
Latin
American music, which he perfected during several journeys to
South-America (Cuba, Brazil) whilst looking for
new sounds and musical perceptions. There he joined local bands, and
was
stimulated by local musicians but at the same time he kept his own
character
and individual style. He composes with free instinct and without
constraints,
therefore allowing him to reach new emotions. He works with several
artists
both in Italy
and abroad. He has recorded three cd with Bandorkestra 55
and Banda Berimbau
(Brazilian batucada). He moved to Paris
in 2009 and one year later he founded the Stefano
Giust Ensemble.
